SOLIDWORKS Refresher & Design for Manufacturing
SOLIDWORKS refresher will show proper design intent. Having proper design intent is crucial for today’s engineer. Design intent is designing for change.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) covers four main topics. Minimize the number of parts it takes to make your product. Reducing the number of fasteners that go into your assembly. The second topic is making parts reusable. This can be done by taking advantage of design library feature in the task manager. The third topic is design intent. You want to have intent to make parts with symmetry and parts that align with other parts. The last topic is Top-Down Design. Taking advantage of the design style can simplify assembly instruction and the assembly process.

Application Engineer @GoEngineer
I was introduced to SOLIDWORKS while I was pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering at Arizona State University. Before I started pursing an engineering degree, I spent 5 years in steel fabrication. I still practice steel fabrication as a hobby and I really enjoy making weldments in the software come to life. I am CSWE (Certified SOLIDWORKS Expert) and I am expecting my Elite certification this year. One of my passions in life is to pass on knowledge that I acquire along my journey. I am grateful to have the opportunity to teach SOLIDWORKS to professionals of all ages. Being able to learn how engineers solve problems in their industry using SOLIDWORKS has really broadened my understanding of what it means to be an Engineer. I really apricate the discipline and commitment I see from our customers and my coworkers.
